My netbook

Having a netbook connected to the internet has
helped me in many different ways this year.
I have learnt how to multiply like what is 5 to the power of 3.
My teacher has taught me how to use strategies to solve problems.
I know how to use Study Ladder and Maths Whizz on the internet.
My friend sometimes helps me to solve problems on maths sites
or Maths Whizz. My friend Tyrone is very smart at doing maths and he can solve
some problems by using his brain to work out problems. I have
taught others to use the internet on there netbook. Now they know
how to access Study Ladder or there Google Drive documents. This
year on my netbook I have doe reading activites and research on my Inquiry projects to find information. My netbook is very helpful and it
is faster to do work. I have improved this year and I have thought about
my learning before I start doing my work. I have had fun on my netbook
 here at Glenbrae School.

The weekends

         The weekends

On Friday night some of us stayed up to cook and make the food for the birthday. Then we went to get the tables and chairs. We set up the chairs and tables. We put the tents up outside at the back and in front of the house. It was so windy that day and the tent broke and ripped open so we took it down. My uncles started cooking the food on the BBQ. When it was finished the bouncy castle had arrived. We were very excited because we wanted to play on it straight away. It was 2 hours then everyone gathered into here the speech that was prepared. Then my Mum’s brother prayed for the food.

Then people started eating and drinking. We talked about the birthday and everyone gave presents to the birthday boy. Then everyone played tag and rugby. Then had a few relays and races. It was really challenging because some others were faster than you thought they would be. We came back to the garage and sat down. Then the parents said a speech and thanked the others for helping set the party up and thank you for the others that came and celebrated Iverson’s 1st birthday.

After the party my cousin’s stayed and we played a game of pool on the pool table. It was easy because some of them didn’t know how to play. I versed someone older than me and I still won. We had a good laugh and played some rough wrestling on the bouncy castle. I speared my brother very hard and he started to cry. I felt guilty but happy because everyone laughed. I said sorry for going rough on him. Then we started throwing each other to the other side of the bouncy castle. We chased others around and ankle tapped our little brothers. then we all had to get off because the bouncy castle was going. Then on Sunday we had a huge clean up and took everything back washed up and rested on Monday. What a long challenging fun weekend.

Mighty Muscles

1. Think about three kinds of athletes-sprinters, weightlifters, and gymnasts. They all use muscles in different ways. How are they different? What do they need their muscles to do? Can you think of other sports in which athletes use their muscles in similar ways to these three kinds of athletes? When do you use your muscles in the way they use theirs?
Flexible Muscles, Strength muscles, To gain speed.

2. Now think of an activity that you do, for example, making a ham and lettuce sandwich. Mime all of the actions (taking the ham and lettuce out of the fridge, picking up the knife, and so on) while your partner writes down the parts of your body and the muscles that are involved. How many muscles does it take to do this simple tasks?
Finger muscles, Arm and shoulder muscles, elbow muscles, legs, spine.

3. Together, read through the card again. Take turns to explain how pairs of muscles work. How many pairs of muscles can you find in your body-for example, the ones you use to open and close your mouth?
There are 642 muscles in a human body, A baby has 300 bones, There are 206 bones in a human body, You use 4-22 muscles when you lift dumbells.

When we heard a splash

When we were at camp it began when we heard a splash! We got a huge fright and we were scared and frightened. Everyone was so scared of the sound. Then it got louder and louder. The others were walking away from the splashing sound. When we got very close to the sound we heard a huge splash. We were so scared with fair down your spine. We turned back and ran towards our cabins. First we tried to figure out what the sound could be. It couldn't been a shark jumping out of the water. Or just might be others doing huge bombs. Then we went to look and hear the sound. It came back but it got quieter and quieter. We looked over the rocks and saw nothing. When looks out to sea and saw splashes and bubbles coming up from the water. The surface was like steaming hot. It looked like some island from underwater was coming out of the water. I think that was an island. But then it vanished. We wondered what it would have been. The next day we heard it again but this time we ran down and there it was. Mermaids splashing and flicking their tails making huge bombs and water jumped out onto the rocks. We told everyone the great news and the next day we played with the mermaids and talked to them about everything and everyone lived on happily ever after.

For house sports we did discus. It was nikau 2 vs rata 2.it was a very hot and sunny game. The sun was burning. Everyone enjoyed playing because everyone participated in discus and there were no put downs. Many people threw the discus further than others. But at the end the score turned out as a tie.everyone was happy because if the other group won then there would be a fight over cheating. What a fabulous day of House sports.

My Story of the best day ever

On a Bright sunny morning there was a boy called Tom and he was my best friend. We went to this unsuspicious house. When we got there the grass was taller than tom and I combined. The house looked creepy and haunted. It looked like someone had a trashing party.Tom said lets get out of here. But then we heard a voice. We said who's there and nothing responded.

We got closer and a sound came to our ears getting louder and louder. It was a scary dark red eyes glowing from a dark distance in the house. We checked it out.Walking through the house we heard more noises. Then we got to the other side of the house. There standing right in front of my face a Big eyed monster. We were scared as hell but we had faith in each other and walked closer. It was just a pair of red eyes. Then on the way back outside we heard a huge slam. The door shut locked down like a metal jail closing. Then we screamed our heads off.

Then a another 2 pair of eyes started getting closer to us.we couldn't run because it was to dark. Then the lights turned on and the room was full of all kind of sweets. We looked at ourselves and smiled at each other. We ran to the lollies and started eating all the lollies. It was the best day ever.Everyday we went to the house and ate more lollies. It was so nice and cool.At the end we finished all the lollies so we burnt down the house and lived happily ever after.

Why Kids Use Drugs

   Why kids use drugs

Why is it that kids are addicted to drugs? A lot of kids in many societies are addicted to doing drugs. Some kids love and will continue doing drugs when they are older. There are many types of different drugs that kids use.Like marijuana and cocaine. This drug use is affecting their bodies, their minds, and ruining their lives.
I believe drug abuse should stop because it’s dangerous to children’s minds, Dangerous to their bodies, and ruining their lives.
Poisoning a young developing mind is never a good thing
Furthermore, drug abuse is affecting their minds. They will not know how to make good decisions and won’t have a good job.
Dangerous to young bodies and messes up it’s mind
In addition, drug affects the lungs in your body and you would feel very weak and not wanting to do nothing at all.
Also, drug diseases affect what you're doing for a job.It will affect your life forever and you're brain will be totally ruinned.
I want kids to be in a better place and think about what they’re doing before they do it.
Finally, kids should think what they want when they are older. But with drugs in the way they won’t achieve and get what they want.Just imagine a world you're living in that drugs are free and could do any drugs when you want.
Finally drug abuse ruins kids health, mind, bodies, and their lives.Personally I feel that kids should
think the right way and think about their education and their lives not the wrong way going straight into drugs because in the world kids will die young.Just imagine you lived without drugs in the world. It would be a safer place for everyone and people ould live great lives.
